Man that’s a bad deal.... I see broken valves a lot. What causes that failure?

That motors in the right hands to get fixed up pretty though.

Bought that a few yrs ago. Haven't really done anything with it except play in a couple of local truck pulls. Been trying to get it painted. But I haven't been to motivated !

Obviously you've spent some time thinking about it or wouldn't be joking about it.

And the reference you made was a direct shot at someone.

I don't appreciate your school yard comment and don't like seeing that in this forum.

I'm thinking a valve seat came out. One is missing. This head was an aftermarket head that had bad valve guides right out of the box. I had a local machine shop replace the guides and I'm thinking he got lazy on the job when he did it and cut corners. I dont know. Could also of been the high HP and the stock valves couldn't handle the heat. All I know is if I had been loaded and pushing it hard I would of probably windowed the block with the way the liner cracked when the valves were bouncing around.

Fatigue in the keepers, or they get brittle.

In his case it also destroyed the piston, the injector, and the turbo when the cylinder spit it out.

Yeah, I seen it tore everything up. Just didn’t know if the keeper broke or the valve stuck because of RPM or like he said about the seat coming loose.
    Man that sucks?

Alex use to pull a ariel lift that went forty stories. He was the only one that pulled it. Stayed hooked to the truck the whole time it was on the job. Usually a couple weeks to a month at a time.

He had a free pass to nasa when they was working on the shuttle launch pad with it.

I think he was the only one crazy enough to demo it on the job site.

The keepers were still intact ! The valve snapped above the head of valve.
