Expensive and gonna kill you.

 

Getting a whole pork loin and cutting your own chops and a roast or two from it can be very good deal.

 

Cube steak and mashed potatoes. We didn’t have pigs growing up,so anything pork was as big treat. And still is even though I buy a pig every year or 2. We grew up eating 25 year old bossy that broke a leg, or something stupid like that. Along with that and then my mother being a FIRM believer in well done, our steaks were nothing to brag about. Dry and tougher than shoe leather. Hamburger was a blessing for us. I still prefer it to this day.

 

I fight with the wife over cooking a hamburger. I like them thick and dripping with juice cooked medium. She smashes them and cuts into them then cooks them very well done.

 

I was commenting on your example of the steak being like butter on crack cocaine. Here's one for ya... don't make a mountain out of a mole hill, james.
