Im not trying to 2nd guess my friend, but he's new to flatbed. He doesn't know the standard trailer sizes, doesn't know all the different types of trailers, etc. He said the upper looked really short and the lower was as long as our 48ft flats. He was dropping off in Roswell, NM at a HD, so who knows. The other guy was an o/o as well. Oh well who knows.

If his 5th wheel is centered behind the rear axle and the pin is set at 8 inches you might get away with no mud-flaps on the tractor. I had a step with a 24 inch pin and a 10ft top and could only slide to 5 inches ahead of center and then had to put a 3/4 inch spacer at the back of my spring flap mounts to keep from catching them on the trailer transition.Brettj3876, cke, jamespmack and 6 others Thank this.

Guess that's as close to a straight answer as I'm gonna get from you. Thanks... I guess.

Hahaha I just wanted to start a philosophical debate! I didn’t assume anything about you personally, nor pretend I know you and you summed up what I was getting atBrettj3876, cke, jamespmack and 5 others Thank this.

Nope, never even heard of one. 10’ is the smallest I know of. With a 5’ deck and the frame rails dropping down you’d never be able to hook up to it let alone turn.Brettj3876, cke, jamespmack and 4 others Thank this.

What a shame, those old IH pickups are one of my favorites.Brettj3876, cke, TripleSix and 7 others Thank this.

I say cut that back half off, rebuild the back half of the frame with a flatbed and rock it.Brettj3876, cke, jamespmack and 4 others Thank this.

For an interesting read on how society could be w/o the fem-nazi movement and psycho-babble. Read the Gorean novels. He's not the best author. But the lessons taught are great. IMO

I prefer to take my “thinkin drinkin” in a slightly more practical direction.

This just went up for sale around here. It's on a school bus chassis. A freind of mine just bought our retired spare to do the same thing. He is recreating his fathers grain truck. Cab is going to be a snub nose 1964 c500 big job ford.
