    Fuel issues and electrical issues.

Just lost my 3rd alternator in a little over a month.

Also the truck will crank and start, run for a minute or 2 and lose prime/get air in the system.

4 months ago it got all new injector o rings, new lift pump, 1 new injector because of a cracked solenoid.

In the past 2 weeks I've replaced all suction hoses from the tanks to the water separator, new distribution valve on the return side, new check valve on the suction side that's in the filter housing.

No fuel in the oil or coolant.

I'm just at a loss here.

Do you have a davco. If so make a hose to bypass it. If that doesn't work try removing one suction hose at a time and plugging it. When you bypass and plug you may have to run it a few times each test to get the desired effect. If anything is leaking it will pull air first.

Did you check the rerun lines for air in the fuel?

Are you sure it's fuel related and not the ECM shutting you down?

What kind of alternators are you buying? Putting too much load on them?

As for air in the fuel, did you confirm its got a suction leak? Did you reseal any fuel line fittings into any housings?

cke, Logan76 and SAR Thank this.

On the alt... take the unit to a place that repairs them. Ask them what failed and have them repair it.

If it's bearing you have an alignment problem. If it's the alt itself then they can probly help with what to look for.

2 Delco remmy and one cheapo

Im going to pull it off tomorrow, I also found the ground strap from the engine to the frame is junk.

The only fuel leak i had that was visible was on the return at the distribution valve, I replaced the valve.

I cleaned everything well and used pipe dope on it all.
I took the tank vents off a cleaned them today, they were fine.
