Hey u have to start somewhere . There is alot of guys here thats been here 10 years or more... it is hard to get good freight when ur the new guy, nobody wants to work with u because u have no reputation... so u take the #### loads or book ur own.... I did a mixture of both to get going and build a reputation for myself.... It is amazing how much info some guys will tell you just asking questions....once i got my foot in the door with certain people here it became easier.... Now ive got myself in a good gig and plan to keep it that way

Hahahah it is a small company word travels fast... i must add we dont have the best safety score with the fmcsa... so prepare to spread ur cheeks at every scale house... no lube by the way....

 

Just to piss you off I’ll tell you a short story; I was about 20 miles out from pick up in Woodburn the other day, got the arrow to pull in for an inspection at the scale house right when you get into Kentucky from Tennessee; I never had an inspection before so when I rolled around I asked another driver where I go to get an inspection and he said pull into that barn in the picture; I’m waiting there after that guy leaves for about 15 minutes when finally I get out the truck and walk up to the scale house; it had this sign that said “drivers entrance” so I walk in, one of them tells me to get out and before I did I simply asked if I was gonna get an inspection because I’m confused af, yells at me, I make a b line for the door and a few seconds later a much cooler head cop walks out and I explain I’m waiting for my inspection and then he explains I was supposed to park, bring my paperwork and only then get inspected if they want to; he asked me what company I drove for, told him and then he said I could just drive back around and leave after going on the scale lane and just like that I was on my merry way hehehe

 

Not a new truck but another old mack. Im gonna pay cash for whatever i get. I bank all my money and am debt free with a high 700s credit score

 

Oooo looks a bit ratty I'd pay 10 for it. That v8 is a proper 90° v8 unlike the 3408 which is a 60° v8.

The big scania v8 is based off the e9 block. Everything else is scania stuff on it. Mack and scania were partners back in the day. Scania actually helped develop the fuel system on the original 237 maxidyne

 

My near future house note will help me quite a bit, it’s hard getting lenders to give you a loan on anything when you don’t have much of a credit history for things like vehicles, houses, etc

 

Hey @PoleCrusher what engine should I look for if interested in a Western Star? I’m not playing favorites I suppose so I’m open to almost anything, but for that one all I’ve seen are those Mercedes engines that I never even heard of lol
