Honesty I’ve been thinkin’; why do all the hard work as a truck driver when you could just buy a wrecker and wait around like a vulture for one of us to break down and charge him out his arse to go 5 miles? :D

I made a mistake of going to that shop once. Right side taillight on the bobtail (just the marker) wouldn’t work. Manager calls me 3 hours later telling me that I have to take it to the dealer. BYW, I owe them $300.

None of my lights worked now. Not even the headlights. I waited until daylight to go to that French Ellison KW in San Antonio. Talking with the service writer. He asks about the original issue.

“Right side or left side taillight? Right? That’s your turn signal switch.”

Are you serious? No wonder I couldn’t figure it out. They had me out and running in 30 minutes.
The next time I went to a TA kiosk, it asked me to survey that Laredo shop. I said something about how Homer Hogg had better not let those idiots repair a doghouse.
TA corporate contacted me and did a conference call with the Laredo shop manager. The manager tells me that if I was so dissatisfied that I should have let her know.

‘YOU were the person at the service desk that told me that despite having my wiring butchered, I still had to pay for it.’

Glad you made it out of there before damage was done.

I helped a buddy out for a season. Towed all kinds of stuff. Honestly, I just felt like #### afterwards. to be quite honest though, it's not price gouging. The amount of insurance that needs to be carried is ridiculous, not to mention the litigation. I kid you not, not a day would go by that somebody wasn't trying to file a claim against him. Plus alot of the cars we would pick up at the behest of the police would never get picked up and therefore not paid for. It's a tough business to be in. Both financially and morally. Not to mention the guys who are on call literally 24/7. It's rough. One season was enough for me.

So got my "newer" 2020 KW T2680. She's got 247k on her. Has a 12 speed. Is in good condition, and even has the front curtain. Tomorrow I turn in my old truck. Head to Walmart for supplies and a mini-fridge. Then get with dispatch for a load out of here for the morning.

Dude spent 3min looking at it and was like "cant do it".

Thanks to a friend/member here, he hooked me up with his guy in SA, truck gets dropped off tomorrow afternoon and he's doing both sides for a tiny bit more than this s hithole wanted for 1 side.

But tell me about the wedge bolts. I know the suspension, but Ive never done kingpins on any vehicle.

Pin fit to hole in I-beam is very important. If its loose the axle doctor can bore and install sleeves.

What your saying is 100% correct.
I did it for 10-11 years. Had a chance to own the place. Ill just finish life "play trucking". Most dont know that life, or understand the brutal work. I sickly loved it. Just made a life change.
