Truck is at the mechanics getting 8 Firestone Fd661 drives, which are slightly used, but way too good of a price to pass up. He's also doing oil/filters and the air dryer.
Barely been home 3 days and already got the itch to be back out in the truck, lol.

I recon a nice piece of textured black plastic would look good covering that hole up, put a scan gauge on there and maybe a spare switch or two. Have the cb mounted below it hanging there like it is in a pete
Im beginning to question the ecm temp sensor. If its not working correctly then the fan won't cycle on its own correct?
Haven't gotten the code read or a scan gauge ordered just yetcke, singlescrewshaker, PoleCrusher and 2 others Thank this. -
I haven't priced the sensor, is it cheap enough to just swap in a new one to be on the safe side?cke, PoleCrusher, Eldiablo and 1 other person Thank this.

Also out of curiosity, what does the temp do when the ac is turned on? Does the fan cycle with the ac compressor?
cke, PoleCrusher, Eldiablo and 1 other person Thank this. -
I haven't priced one either. It's a single wire sensor. Can't be that much. There's 2 that I've found. One on the head and one on the block behind the oil cooler or on the cooler is self in the watercke, singlescrewshaker, PoleCrusher and 1 other person Thank this.

It cycles the fan on and off but it doesn't keep the temp in check. I've got ac on fan on auto running 65 empty right now and it's staying bout 195 or so.
Loaded i have to run the fan to keep it below 200cke, singlescrewshaker, PoleCrusher and 1 other person Thank this. -
Once upon a time, not to long ago even, yes, but now nope.
Maybe, if the G hadn't extended the free "unemployment" money till September, there may have been more of an incentive for folks to go back to work. The lame excuse of "I'm afraid of covid" is gettin real thin, but alas, the free money has already been allocated, thus it must be spent. Don't forget to include 10% for the "big guy"....cke, singlescrewshaker, jamespmack and 4 others Thank this. -
Google shows between $35-85 for a C15 coolant sensor. Id definitely be putting one in just to eliminate that problem.cke, PoleCrusher, Eldiablo and 1 other person Thank this.
