I bought a 4500 cab and chassis dodge in 2007 because I wanted a 10ft bed. Loved that thing. My new one is a regular bed. I really miss the 10ft bed though. So much easier to haul hay on it for around the farm stuff. I might get another one.

Edit: Never understood the short bed thing. Why have a truck that can't do truck things?

I got a crew cab with the short short bed thinking I'll never need to use the bed for anything other than the occasional trash run and such. Now though I wish I'd went with a bigger truck. I dont regret buying it because at the time I didn't need bigger. But things change and so do needs so here I am.

    Try it with Dr. Pepper.

Side note, coffee and spiced rum is a winner!

Mine is generally used for doing car things, except for the occasional appliance.

That's exactly what I mean. It is a huge investment to sell yourself short over 1.5 feet. I don't see how you would even notice the difference....

Now, I will say that I wish I could get by with a srw vs the dually that I've almost always had. It is sooo much easier to get around in a srw, but I have too much pin weight most of the time to do it safely. Not that it stops alot of others from doing it....lol

May I ask the question....why not a car or small suv then? Something that gets like twice the mileage. However, it is your money and spend it as you see fit. Im not poking fun. Just something that I often wonder. I see it alot.
