So I am 30 minutes into an unplanned 34. Picked up a load on Wednesday. Shipper took so long to get me loaded. No chance of making the 1600 miles to the delivery last night. No other drivers close enough that could have repowered and ran it in team. Americold isn't open on the weekend. So I am sitting at the Loves in Saint Joseph, MO till they open on Monday morning. The good news is there is a great little Mexican joint on the other side of the overpass. Good food and margaritas. The GREAT news is I picked up a ribeye earlier today and a propane grill a couple days ago. So tonight, after watching the Rays lose to Houston, I'll be walking over for some dinner. Then tomorrow I'll cook up the steak.

Not sure if your route takes you along I-40 in AR. But there is a good Mexican place, El Amigo, at exit 193 in Hazen, AR, right across from the Loves

 

Protable ac"s suck bad, they are the most inefficient type. They're just bad. A tiny window unit is by far more efficient and less draw on the generator. I found this out the hard way. My 3500w gen won't run my portable for more than a minute before it overloads. Here's a YouTube explanation, from a guy smarter than me.

No shoes, no shirt, no service is a popular sign around here. Private business as far as im concerned can make thier own rules. I follow them if I wanna enter. Same with my house, you don't like my rules leave.

Now not saying I'm a mask advocate, haven't worn it much. But not gonna cry about having too.

Definitely download Uber eats, Doordash, etc. That way even if you're parked where nothing is close by you can still order good food. Sometimes there no delivery fee but usually it's not much more than a pizza place would charge you.
