Dryland farming...you can't farm this country like they used to. Granted most of it Irrigation now but the soil is so light it blows with the slightest wind. The less you disturb it the better.

I'd like to remove these fairing extenders. Is there a tool for these rivets, or is it possible to drill them out?

Well, new hood rollers are in. Old ones busted in half when the hood came down violently and rather unexpectedly.

Going to work on replacing hub oil next. YeahEldiablo, jamespmack, singlescrewshaker and 5 others Thank this. -
If they are the crimp in style, just drill them out.Eldiablo, jamespmack, singlescrewshaker and 5 others Thank this.

Agreed 100% I think no till with cover crop is the way to go. Sometimes interseeded.
Edit: when I lived in Colorado I was on the S.A.R.E. committee there. Some pretty cool stuff. It is hard to get folks out of their comfort zone. Tried to introduce new crops and markets. Most folks just want to stick with their same old rotation though. Doesn't matter if it works or not because...."next year will be better". Farmers, especially old ones, are weird like that.Last edited: May 2, 2021

Those look like Huck fastners. Quickest way I've found to get them off is to slot that collar in half with a zip cut, being mindful not to go too deep.
If they're aluminum, they can be drilled pretty easily. Takes more time but the risk of damaging the paint/panel is much lower than using a zip cut.Flint1, Eldiablo, jamespmack and 7 others Thank this. -

Well, back to raining again. I did get the rollers in....way mo better now. Got hub oil drained and refilling now. Then go find a coin-op car/truck wash in Ogallala to wash the residual oil and grime off this piece. Then to Walmart, because I ran over my friggin tool box. Doh
