When my grandpa had to move into his retirement home, he pulled me aside and handed them to me. Along with a very old transit to shoot grade. I will pull that out and post a picture tomorrow. Even got the wooden stand tri-pod to go with that. I will take that day to my grave. Learned so much from that man.

Was in the mood for a good steak and loaded mashed taters and a salad. Went to Logan’s for the first time. The loaded mashed taters were awful. I had no idea that mashed potatoes could be awful. The steak was WaffleHouse decent, and WaffleHouse doesn’t brag about their steaks.

The waitress asked me if I wanted a to go box. “We are slammed. It’s graduation week.” And I didn’t say one word about the food.

If you knew your grandfathers, maternal or paternal, consider yourself lucky. My paternal GF was gone before I was born, and mom's father was in Germany and died when I was 4.

The best thing I got that compares with your grandpappy's tools is my dad's gasoline blowtorch that he used to burn off lead paint in the house that we grew up in before we were born. I polished it and installed a new cotton strand as a wick.

One of these days I have to see if it will still burn.

Nope never meet either. Both dead years before me. Had a great step grandfather. My dad saved his dad's tools and gave them to me.

The beetus killed dad's father. He was a WW1 vet. Mom's father died of natural causes. He was a WW2 vet, for the Germans.

    How's that for 'conflicted"? ;)
