@jamespmack did some lookin on getting more brightness out of fiber. For best effect you need a lense that focuses the light into the end of the fibers.
Doubt they used that.
So if these leds I ordered don't have much effect I'll see if I can come up with something that lights each strand individually with their own led diode. If it works I'll send you and @singlescrewshaker a setup
The idea is have some "sleeves" 3d printed that the fiber end will glue into and an led diode will go in the other using the leds lense to focus the light into the fiber. Then it's just wire those into a 194 pigtail adapter that will plug into the factory socket.Eldiablo, singlescrewshaker, PoleCrusher and 4 others Thank this. -

So apparently there are no Cat dealers in over a 12 hour radius that are open Saturdays. Do truck dealers still sell Cat parts? Local Freightliner dealer is open 7 days a week. Think I might start piecing the rest of the Kitty back together.

I would think they do. I can ask my uncle tomorrow he's a regular at the local Tracy FLDeereRunner97, Eldiablo, singlescrewshaker and 6 others Thank this.

Always got better pricing at FL cat approved shop over anyplace. Cat is not allowed to sell out the door cheaper than local dealers. Or they didn't in the past.DeereRunner97, OLDSKOOLERnWV, Eldiablo and 8 others Thank this. -
Gotta love the internet. Just checked their website and it would seem they still deal with Cat parts. Only really need a head gasket and valve cover gaskets. That'll take care of about 75% of the engine. Then it'll just be a matter of getting the oil cooler and air cooler cleaned/tested.beastr123, DeereRunner97, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 9 others Thank this.

Oh and then the fuel pump. That one will hurt the wallet I think
