So the solution is to forge documents and to illegally acquire the vehicle; what am I to do if I get caught? Maybe some people don’t care about their record but I do and why in my right mind would I open myself up to getting a felony? Just because the system at which we do things is convoluted, to that I will agree, it doesn’t mean you should disregard it and break the law; the fact is I should’ve been more prepared as the buyer and knew everything I needed before buying the car and I could’ve walked away; I will not reduce myself to a criminal as he is just because it’s the easier path.

 

You're not forging anything to be truthfully honest. The seller you got it from didn't fill out anything on the title. It was open. All you have to do is sign on the buyers line. You are the buyer, the guy on the title is the seller. The fact that the guy you got it from didn't title it in his name before selling it is irrelevant at this point.
