    And for those who don't know, there are many plants rich in protein... Yes!
    Ora-Pro-Nobis for instance, is a plant typical from Brasil and it's so high in protein that it's called "vegetable meat" around here...
    Like this plant, there are sooo many other plants in Brasil used as medicine and contain so many nutrients that are used in cooking... Brasil has a very rich flora.

    upload_2021-6-12_20-34-14.jpeg

    They sell that in caps at health food stores in Brasil... I've never seen that in America... :biggrin_25512: Bought some to take with me...

    Copied and pasted parts of an article (translated to English) about this super food incredible plant...

    Ora-Pro-Nobis is a food plant that has a high nutritional power as it is very rich in essential amino acids. About 25% of its leaves are a source of amino acids for protein synthesis, considered a macronutrient.
    The benefits in food are so relevant that Epagri placed the ora-pro-nobis in the basic food basket of Santa Catarina (state in Brasil), due to the issue of health. In coastal cities like Florianópolis, São José and Palhoça, it is found in fairs, horticultural and markets.
    The fruit of the plant, as well as its leaves, are edible, and with exceptional nutritional properties. Its values are higher for carotenoids, flavonoids in ripe fruits, for its very high antioxidant power, which is associated with the reduction of chronic-degenerative diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases. It helps in the physiology of the human body:
    In the digestive and intestinal process, which promotes satiety, rebuilding the intestinal flora;
    In combating anemia, as it has iron and folic acid; in combating inflammatory processes;
    In embryonic and fetal formation;
    In the immune system, due to the sources of vitamins and antioxidant action;
    In the skin, retinol and vitamin C, which hydrates the hair and stimulates collagen synthesis;
    It is also important for vision and bone metabolism. The function of antioxidants is to protect the cell against the action of free radicals, delaying aging and preventing damage to the body's biochemical functioning. The flavonoids present in ora-pro-nobis are known for their antioxidant properties. They are powerful in combating the action of free radicals that cause cell aging.

    I wish we could still get gliders. I'm not going to lie, a new truck appeals to me as I get older. Simply because of the comfort and features. I wouldn't mind having a volvo workstation with an 18spd an a 6nz. Not the best looking truck, but it is quiet and comfy. I loved my 359, but I nolonger like the small flat top sleeper. Which is why I now have a 379. Plus an air ride cab is nice. As I get older I appreciate such things. I will refuse to buy a new truck until all the bs is ironed out. I don't think that will ever happen though. The manufacturers can't keep up with the epa. Every few years the epa changes the requirements. How is a manufacturer supposed to design, r&d, manufacture and test a reliable product in that time frame? They haven't managed yet. So again, the govt screws us.

    I had a booth in an art n craft fair on a public square in that place selling earrings, rings, necklaces, pins, pendants, all kinds of female and male jewelry back in the 80's

    20210612_114816_1.gif

    The fair is every Friday and Saturday... The place is TOTALLY changed...
    This is a stand selling hammocks

    20210612_114849.jpg

    There used to be more than twice the amount of booths in that fair... most are gone and the ones I saw now, couldn't recognize... Besides, that square got changed... trees gone, new trees in, things moved... everything is different...

    20210612_115513.jpg

    I recognized 3 folks from old times and we had some quick conversations... so many others died... old crazy times...
    20210612_115633.jpg

    Those little trees are new... my booth used to be right where I was when I took the picture... there were no bus stops there...

    20210612_122625_1.gif

    My booth was right where the red X is on the ground... but none of those blue things existed back then.... no trees, it was all grass, only grass...

    20210612_180128.jpg

    I could write a book about those years when I worked there... wild... very wild...
