Thank you very much @Zack P ... your input is truly helpful. Glad your implant was done right and you don't have any issues with it.
I had to have the roots of one molar extracted... There wasn't much tooth left and the root was damaged to the point that it could not be saved...
When you wrote that your orthodontist has confirmed that the teeth adjacent to an open space will migrate... not enough to notice "until work needs to be done". What does it mean? Is the Dr. saying that it will be difficult to treat the teeth that moved because they are out of their original place or is he/she saying something else?
I continue collecting input from those who have had an implant in order to know how they feel with the implant in their bone, if they experience any discomfort or any other unpleasant feeling. And or if they had later issues due to the implant.
If the implant touches or damages the nerve that runs along the jaw, it may cause permanent numbness in the tongue and other unpleasant sensations.
