Body shop says they're not going to replace the whole hood. He said they would essentially splice in a new fender, then paint to match the hood.

The only time its noticed and needs to be dealt with is if the patient wants to get an implant or other aesthetic prosthetic put in place so that the patient is no longer missing a tooth or teeth. The issue can be dealt with in a few different ways depending on the patient, patient's financials, patient's goal(s), and current medical situation. For instance, if you have two gaps with a tooth separating the gaps, then the oral surgeon may recommend removing the one tooth before proceeding to a dental implant or denture of some sort. If the resulting gap is too small for the correct teeth, then they would refer the patient to an orthodontist to move the adjacent teeth to better positions, either by applying braces or using something called Invisalign.

Otherwise, with a missing tooth, if it doesn't affect quality of life; then dentists, oral surgeons, and such won't bother you about it.

As for your current situation, depending on how long ago you had the roots extracted, its possible that you may have to have the resulting holes in the bone filled in with bone graft first (like myself). As for the pain, discomfort, numbness, etc... associated with the mandibular nerve and/or other nerve(s), your dental team should be able to help with any complications minus the numbness. That is usually very noticeable at first, but will reduce to a very minor spot that you will forget it is there.

Why does he say to never get implants? To boost denture sales?

This ain’t English class Sonny and who gave you back your phone privileges? You aren’t supposed to have it for a week on account of last weeks scrabble game when you threw pieces at Ms. Abernathy, tore up the score sheet and ate it
