Thanks that was cool.
And THIS is why we use a safety factor of 3...or more.... I think for bridges it's more like 5 or 6.... And I'm grateful for that...

Same here. All my friends took the college prep classes in high school. I did in 9th and 10th then said wait a minute. I'm most likely not going to college so screw it Lol. To the easy classes and skated. My Sr year i only went to school 8-11am and then worked the rest of the day. Winter time I got laid off but didn't tell the school thatDeereRunner97, Lostkeys, PoleCrusher and 8 others Thank this.

I went through a rather long period of my life where I had no idea what I wanted to do. I interned at a machine shop, I can Weld, I Interned at a body shop, I was in racing for awhile. I always drove and was in ag in some aspect through most of it though. I wish I would have figured out my life alot earlier. It would have saved me alot of time, effort and money. I did meet alot of good people along the way though. So that is one highlight....I guees....lol. I also took drafting/cadd in high school.DeereRunner97, Brettj3876, Lostkeys and 9 others Thank this.

Lol, funny you say that. I actually really enjoyed the math. It was prolly my favorite part. I learned that I really suck at free hand drawing. I'm not bad on the Ole Autocad though. Or atleast I wasn't then.....lolDeereRunner97, Brettj3876, Lostkeys and 5 others Thank this.

Pretty much the same path I took.
I only went to a vo-tech school.
I was never good at math they taught in school.
They also didn't teach usable math so there's that.
Also same.
I kinda can weld. Do pretty good with a mig but that's just a man's hot glue gun. Never was any count with stick but I'd like to learn tig some day. Only regret I have is not going to school for cad instead of mechanics. That could have lead me into the machinist and so on that I think is so cool. However at nearly 30 I enjoy where I've gotten so far and have the ability to learn the cad stuff.DeereRunner97, Lostkeys, PoleCrusher and 8 others Thank this. -

I found school ruined a lot of things for me. Its only been in the last year or 2 that I've really started to enjoy things like reading, drawing, music and fitness.
I hated doing things like book reports. I just want to read the book and enjoy it. I could give a rat's behind about symbolism and metaphors in a literary piece, I just want to enjoy the story.
Art and music always seemed subjective to me. Like I'm not the most skilled artist but if I completed the art assignment accurate to the criteria, why should it matter if it doesn't look perfect? Same with music. If I played the song properly why should I not be entitled to a decent grade?DeereRunner97, Brettj3876, Lostkeys and 7 others Thank this. -
