Where is everyone #5

I'm heading to bed as soon as I get my lunch made for tomorrow. Temperatures have been in the mid 30s (mid to high 90s F) the last couple days. Its starting to beat me down. Thursday is a holiday so no working on the hottest day forcasted at least.

 

My father-in-law retired late '92…...early '93 my mother-in-law was diagnosed with the cancer that is caused by asbestos....lost her in '94 at 53

My dad retired and two weeks later was paralyzed from the chest down. Has a chronic neurologist disease.

I know a lot of people that retired and in a few weeks passed away or had major medical conditions.

I can't explain it...they were all hard working healthy people.

I don't know what I'll do....I've already lived three years longer than I thought I would. I'll probably keep driving when I can as long as I enjoy it. My intention was to already be retired but I enjoy what I do. Mama has at least another ten years at her job unless she gets tired of it.

 

I kind of have the mindset that I'd rather go out while on the edge of losing my independence. I saw my grandfather waste away in a care home for a couple years and I'm not interested in that one bit.

 

I've told the kids no care homes for me. If I can't function on my own, let me starve or freeze.

 

I prob sweated out a gallon today. Truck AC on full blast all day. Wicked lightning show on my way back. Saw it for about 100 miles before I ran into the downpour

I got forced into retirement. Had it all planned out to go another 5-8 years....so much for planning.

There are days I just say to hell with it, and just lounge around the TV or monopoly money poker and find myself edging on depression...then mama comes home and rips into me....can't win! Between Covid and Cancer, the first year wasn't that bad, but now I don't have the rgular doctor visits, clinic for blood visit...guess being the house-husband and greeting her with "how was your day dear"....it sucks....it could be worse I guess, the AC could go out!

 

It seems to me as if many people are no smarter than mice. Two mice can be running in a kitchen and one sticks his head in a trap, POW! The other mouse sees his buddy get killed, but will stick his head in the very same trap the next day.

I will ask the mouse if he remembers what the trap did to his buddy, and the mouse will tell me that his situation is different. To you, it may be different, but not to the trap. “But Six, I am smarter than Buddy.” Oh, I had no idea that traps could tell IQ. POW!

 

I came into this world broke, naked, and hungry. If I leave with half of that, I will feel I did good.

The same thing happened to my dad's father. He was gone not even 2 years after hanging the keys up.
