Again I see that as unhelpful remains of evolutionary behavior.
Would you see any significant differences between a mother dying in childbirth vs an old woman dying with grandchildren at her side?

I think I would be very uncomfortable in your inner world where the participation of an individual in the world is irrelevant and the nurturing of a mother for her infant is of no consequence... that's pretty dark...

 

To each their own. Your not guaranteed anything in life.

 

Exactly. That's what makes this moment in the sun so precious.

 

Agreed, the moment. If that moment ends today or tomorrow is of no difference. Because again, it's all the same in the end.

 

Sure I am, death & taxes...

 

I hear the words but can't grasp how a parent doesn't see the lasting impact of how many or how few of those moments a child gets with its parents. Or a person with their loved one. Or even how many strangers lives could be benefitted by a single compassionate person before that kind person dies.
Equating our helplessness OVER our lifespan to the pointlessness OF that lifespan is bonkers IMO.
