Alright @Rocks, here is my 2cents. If you choose to carry a weapon....train with it! Know how to use it and know how it works. Know how to clear a stovepipe, etc. I'm a big fan of revolvers. If you press an auto against an object, it goes out of battery. Also, if you carry an auto, Know what ammo works best. Not all ammo cycles effectively/reliably in every gun. Next, get a reliable flashlight with a tail switch. There is a fine line here. If you are in a confined space with a really bright light, it's going to wash.......bad. So, not only will it blind the other person, it will hinder your vision aswell. I have some really bright surefire weapon lights that wash bad indoors. While my handheld lights tend to be programmable. So they come on as medium first. Next, stay quiet and only use your light when necessary. You do not under any circumstances want to give away your position. Depending on the law, an attacker has to be inside your space. Meaning, if you see a guy on your step, you can't shoot through the door. That's not good. Next, if you feel your life is in danger and you feel justified using your weapon, do so efficiently. Do not fire a warning shot. Do not try to wound them. Make it count. Because if your life is in danger.....it's in danger. As far as legality goes. I can't give an opinion on legality. You have to ask what is your life worth. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by six. I also carry pepper spray in my center console. As far as your broken widow thing goes. It's very hard to break windows. When you see a guy effortlessly punch out windows in the movies....that's BS. Your a bad mofo to punch out a modern window without breaking alot of bones.
Edit: I forgot to mention a very important thing. Mindset! When you act, do so decisively and quickly. You also have to have the mindset to do what needs to be done in that moment. You would be amazed how many people talk big, up until that moment comes and then can't deal deal with it. Then, can't deal with the aftermath either.Last edited: Aug 10, 2021

Yeah.. I am aware about companies... I was referring to having to carry a gun permit in every state one runs thru...
That first video... the "weapon" he improvised didn't seem "lethal" to me.. not even effective...
I have been traveling for so long inside Brasil and in the USA... some hotels are not the best in town... I am familiar with those "tactics"
What I would like to see is a video demonstrating how to react to people trying to break into the truck while driver is inside.
In case a firearm is not an option, what about an airgun?Lostkeys, cke, Brettj3876 and 3 others Thank this. -
Huh...you don't say.

Yes sir! My mom and dad used to have a revolver..old 38 back in the 70's... finally it was stolen by bandits that broke into their home... But the revolver was already old and rusty...
I am going to visit an army surplus store and see what they have. Someone said something about flash lights... I used to have a small one, similar to "nitecore P-10"
What does it mean "to wash" with a flashlight?
I learned one thing after watching that couple in IL who went to prison and responded in court for defending their lifes with their guns... Don't point a gun at someone unless you are ready to shoot them... and do it right away...
Would also like to have a night vision camera inside of the truck...
Pepper or wasp spray might be important... but what if used inside of the truck... it would affect the driver as well...
Someone once suggested carrying a flare gun... but I wouldn't use it inside of the truck...

Probably not the exact definition but I’m guessing when the light is so bright indoors it flashes off the surface in the house and blinds you as wellLostkeys, Brettj3876, cke and 4 others Thank this.

Oh no... a criminal would not try to break a window with their bare hands...
I don't think so... they would use a concrete block or a gun.. something strong and heavy...
Mindset! Yeah... must have a plan... or two... or three... and put in God's hands...
About being carried by six... I want to be cremated...
Lostkeys, Brettj3876, cke and 5 others Thank this.
