stank and any grain coming out was contaminated.
It was steam-cleaned fall and summer the first year and ran a test the first harvest after, contaminated. Steamed again second summer, contaminated. The third summer it was steamed and he ran 3 round bales of straw and 30 bushels of old wheat through it 3 or 4 times and he then was able to use it on a badly hail damaged field that would be used for cattle feed only. That was enough to finally clean it for food grade use.
My buddy was paid partly by insurance for his custom combining.
That was in the late 70s early 80s.

I got some to kill a ant hill I had at the lake.

I finally got rid of them after several applications. I wasn't real impressed to tell you the truth. Diesel and match would have been a whole lot quicker but I didn't want a big burn spot my yard. Still have a bare spot.

 

I played boat mechanic again today. Got my buddies ski boat fixed....well after he gets a new relay.

Figured out what was wrong with mine and got that fixed.....but when we went to test run it the water pump gave up the ghost. Thankfully it was in the driveway.

 

The wife & I moved the daughter to her college apartment yesterday,then drove to Tunica & spent the night for our anniversary which is tomorrow.
Stopped back by on the way home today & said our goodbyes. That was hard but at the same time I know that we have raised a strong young lady with a good head on her shoulders who knows what she wants to do & is working towards that goal.
She has a job in the college office starting tomorrow & school starts the 23rd. Looking forward to seeing her on the softball field this fall when they play.
