Oh yeah , the couple times the thing has actually worked , that arctic package is nice... i remeber running the apu all night in -10 wyoming. Truck started up at the first crank, oil and coolant was about 120 degrees... when the thing actually works it is pretty nice little machine

I think i could do something similar with a generator setup. I have a plug for a block heater . Could run an extension cord to that, get a trickle charger for the batteries . Plug in a space heater . Be just as good as an apu...

Generator would have an alternator most likely, that'd charge the batteries. Most diesel ones are also liquid cooled so you'd just tap into the same hoses as the apu to warm the coolant

Interesting ! I noticed my coolant lines have a shutoff valve back towards the apu ,so i could just plug the end of those off and be good to go... what part of the country are u in again?

At least the diesel ones I've found are set up like that.

And I'm in north east Arkansas.

Truck Fire...one of our O/Os had a power steering hose catch fire...We put it out but it would start burning again in about a minute...We used a few large fire extinguishers before the fire department got there...

That thing is a disaster, I hope you’re good at trouble shooting. Look up South Main Auto on YouTube, that guy is fantastic at troubleshooting.
