Cat part or was it Yellowmark? I wouldn't spend a nickle on Yellowmark. I bought a spacer plate for my 3406. Out of the box it didn't even meet Cat's reuse and salvage guidlines so I took it back and got a Cat one. It was good.
A coworker was repairing an old Cat dozer. Cat discontinued a lot of parts so only Yellowmark was available. He had to grind 5 lbs of metal off a shaft with a flap wheel to get it in spec.
Where is everyone #5

best guess - it will not be going back together. Won’t know til the dealer actually does the tear down
metal pieces in the oil pan. Unconfirmed guesses at this point main bearing from number 5. Less than 40k on motor -
I did a couple of Cat remans. Say you pull apart a transmission. All frictions and steels get inspected. If they meet reuse criteria they go back in.
Same with gears. If they meet reuse criteria you etch the hours and rebuild number onto them and they go back in. I believe they get tossed after the 3rd overhaul regardless of condition. -
Yeah man. Thanks. Now I remember where the Kenworth OEM refrigerator is supposed to go. For some reason I thought it was located on the left side like my 389 was.Lostkeys, cke, PoleCrusher and 7 others Thank this.

@Lysdexis this is measured at the inside flange. These are approximate, in the dark, by myself measurements......lol
33 5/8" wide
52 1/4" tall -
It just all goes back to having a place to work. I could have replaced both pumpkins, 4 axles, seals, etc for what they charged to put in just the one. I'm just tired of tossing money out the window because of mediocre work. The dealer resealed the power divider housing, filled it with oil and sent me on my way. They said that the mfg said it was OK. That all that was likely from the last diff exploding. My exact words were "well, that's ######## and you know it". To which he just kinda put his head down. The mfg isn't going to want to eat that cost....duh. they are hoping it makes it to the warranty is out. They completely disassembled my axle housing and cleaned it out last time. So after like case of brakecleen, your telling me your guy missed those chunks of crap? Nah....I don't think so.
Edit: the guy said the oil looked really good, you could still see through it. I said "no ####, its been leaking for almost a month. I've added about 1.5 pints a week to it". He just said....."oh". Fml, where do they find these guys!Last edited: Sep 29, 2021

That truly sucks brother. Being at the mercy of others really sucks. It sucks even more when those people have no care whatsoever. So, what is your plan of attack?

I didn't say it was legit, I said it was easy and effective....lol. besides, whose gonna know that?
