Mine sucked 40 years ago on the first day I picked up a pencil and it will suck until the day I die.

    Hated writing and always will.

Too many idiots like to use the second syllable as a pejorative unfortunately.

My Dad the academic had beautiful handwriting.......couldn't read it but it was nice looking.

Looking at the handwriting of the fathers of our country we have certainly gone downhill in that regard.

Edit to add that mine is functional but poor as well Mack.

You could certainly make that argument, but you have to remember that they used quills with inkwells, and we barely even use paper anymore.

Also, it isn’t fair to compare the likes of the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence to simple letters between random people of the time.

True, but take a look at old ledgers by common shop owners and such and typically it was very neat.

Give me paper, quill, and ink well and the best I could probably do is a fingerprint.

It is kind of amazing how someone was able to produce the likes of calligraphy with only a feather.

Nobody has the patience for that anymore. It’s just too labor intensive for much other than tattoos.

Mine too, we have a 59 diesel that my grandpa bought in 84. I’ll probably never get it because of greedy cousins. My grandpa bought it for me, we had a 574 with a loader. Dad would load round bales on wagons with the other tractor then when we would go to the barn. I couldn’t reach the brakes and clutch so I would step on the clutch and drop the loader. Grandpa saw that and wasn’t impressed. So a few days later the 730 showed up, diesel, 15.5 38’s on the back I thought I was in heaven. I could run the hand clutch and brakes at the same time. It was sweet.

Hopefully those cousins at least have the slightest clue and appreciate what they have.

Never seems to work out that way though.

They couldn’t pick a 730 out of a line up.

I couldn’t either, but there is still much to be said the idea of appreciation of a quality tool. A little research will rectify that.

It’s the ones that don’t even want to part with their perceived “trash” that someone else may “treasure” that need an ### kicking, IMHO.
