Crazy as it sounds, I've wandered around all 62 acres here, and the only oak I've seen is a small bear oak down by the river. Soil must not be right for 'em, too much clay I guess. Even up to the woodlot, I've seen no Oaks there either. Daughter has some Red Oaks up to her place, sandy soil. I'll have a look when I get up there.

Red oak's will have a crop every 2 years, white oak usually every year...

 

Kinda reminded of the early 70's, when just about all you could get then were them stupid "bell bottom" jeans. Man, I hated them things. Your dad will know what I'm talking about..
