Looks like the white volvo was parked in a no park space, good thing for you he was there though to take the brunt of it. No excuse taking out the pole though. Unlike past days, this kinda crap is the main reason why I avoid truck stops if at all possible...

I don't know WTF is wrong with people these days. Twice in the last month we had drivers that couldn't even back off a 2 lane road into our parking lot with 48 foot trailers in a daycab. One guy spent, I #### you not, FIFTEEN minutes just getting into our parking lot. The entrance is about 50 feet wide.
Last week a driver backed into the parking lot and through the 14 foot wide gate to the yard in under 3 minutes. Longhood with a studio sleeper, 10 axle unit with a tandem jeep and tandem booster. That's skill right there. -
……. Witnessed a head on collision yesterday in cartersville.
so I’m just thinking T6 jinxed us all this week. Keep your eyes peeled boys. -
@PoleCrusher
Think it may have been you who answered this question? But a ways back, maybe even a year or so ago someone in another section was asking about the 5 amber lights atop the cab..
Found it interesting the '51 Deplex Jimmy fock'n 2 Lane just posted only has the 2 clearance lights, & no ICC lights, assuming it was built long before the ICC was even a thought.. I probably wouldn't have noticed this otherwise..

Went to about 11,000 and hiked around a bit. Was feeling a bit out of breath Lol. The peak in the background is just over 14k. Wanted to go deeper in the park but those trails are closed for the winter

I think alot of it is the quality of driver. Thus industry is very demonized. We are made out to look like a bunch of ignorant rednecks. It doesn't exactly draw a good crowd. If folks have other options, they take them. Who wants to be away for 2 weeks then be home for the weekend? Eat a bunch of crap over priced food. Sit in a seat for 11hours a day by yourself. You literally live at work. It doesn't exactly sell itself to the younger crowd. They have taken most of the skill out of a job. You don't have to trip plan, the GPS does that. You don't have to shift, the auto does that. You don't have to pay attention to your surroundings, the crash avoidance system does that....etc. so, just put your foot on the dash and go down the road at 63mph.

Edit: and you don't have to back up, because it's all drop and hook.Last edited: Oct 23, 2021

I haven't been inside a truck in a couple years now but I know for dang sure I'd have gotten the van into the yard and through the gate with 1 pullup or less.
I just don't know how drivers get a license when they can't do a simple 90 degree back on the good side with ample room.jamespmack, singlescrewshaker, cke and 7 others Thank this. -
They can back up just fine between some cones when they get their license....lol
All jokes aside though, if you work for a larger company, you don't Backup. You drop and hook in a big yard and the local guy takes it from there. It's a sad world we live in.jamespmack, singlescrewshaker, cke and 6 others Thank this.
