@shooter19802003 I was down working on the crusher today and got the story on all the old equipment in the canyon. Grandpa of the pit owner was there & went to high school with the fellow. It's on tribal land and he got in a beef with the tribe & they gave him until Nov. 26 to get everything out
. He's moving it somewhere else. 40+ year collection I guess there is some really neat stuff.

Yeah, gramps said something about things people would get excited about- tractors, trucks..... I didn't have much time to talk working out of a 980 bucket trying to pull a 600 pound pulley off a 6" shaft before dark. Safety first!singlescrewshaker, cke, peterbilt_2005 and 11 others Thank this.

I am telling you this story to cheer you up and say it could be worse.
I sat 3 days in Amarillo while the IHC dealership tried in vain to find a front diff for my truck, it was an oddball because the diff-lock worked by stopping the air not applying it. also it was a 40-145 gearset in 3.90.
They told me at the end of the third day (Wednesday) that they could maybe get a pumpkin from Virginia but the guy rebuilding it could not start on it for 10 days then 6 business days to freight it out to them (total cost without R+R was $9500). I called 2 gear shops in Edmonton AB and found one ready to go for $2650 and I called a LTL oilfield freighter who ran teams to Houston 7 days per week and they charged me $350 to deliver to the dealership Friday by 3:00pm and I was out by noon Saturday. That gearset was still good when I sold the truck about 1 million miles and 8 years later.Last edited: Nov 5, 2021
