So it is still the case - if you show the dude $25 worth of receipts they let you out with paying for the parking. Since they got $4 for a medium fountain drink getting to $25 is pretty easy. The restaurant is still closed FYI

Well, on a side note. I got the oil changed on the 4wheeler and put the plow on it. Worked on my road all frigging day. Took it down a bit and added alot of Rock. Then put the plow on the tractor.....just to take it back off again....lol. I'll put it back on in the morning. Done nothing but rain the whole week, so it was a muck fest.....but it needed to be done and I was home.

Come play in the snow hahaha this morning on lost trail pass in montana. No chains yet. Ran up and down barefoot.. Why the hell is it tho , the mountain passes that are on idaho/montana border . the montana side is always #### snowpack then cross the border to idaho and its all salted and plowed? Lookout pass is the same way.

Because a few years ago idaho passed a rule about it. When I was working for itd at the time, our Salt almost tripled that first year! They claim it is a safe road initiative. Now they are almost doubling the salt sheds and brine plants in the state. A few buddy's up north are still working there. This year they are hiring more guys. In the shed I was in, there were only like 8 guys. That means the entirety of boundary County has 8 guys working. In the winter they split shifts to day and night. Which means there are only 2 guys on a night except on Wed.....then there are 4. You can call the other guys in if you want, but they aren't obligated to come in. So, 95 north of Sandpoint to the border, hwy 1 and hwy 2.......just 2 guys.

It makes sense. ive never seen lookout pass superbad on the idaho side. Unless it was like way early in the morning and snowing like crazy... But last year i cant even count how many times running eastbound up lookout was salted and just wet . then get to the top and it turns to pure ice once you cross the border into montana. Same thing going west.
