Christmas is really the only day of the year I want it!! And no offense taken I don’t like it either when I gotta get out and work in it.

It will but from my understanding in certain areas of the chart the 400t crawler will out pick it. It’s still impressive though.singlescrewshaker, Gatordude, PoleCrusher and 7 others Thank this.

Yeah, they have alot of pretty nice equipment. The problem is, there is no standardization. So you gave to carry parts for 4 different engines, 2 transmission, 4 pumps and in those 4 pumps were 3 variants possible of each. 4",4.5" or 5". Made our parts house a nightmare. When I had to do inventory on Fridays it made my life a living hell. Trying to determine what we would need for the next week. By the time I left....my crystal ball was starting to get pretty darn good. About 1 month before I left or so is when we merged or absorbed the slumberger frac fleet. What a frigging nightmare.singlescrewshaker, PoleCrusher, BigBob410 and 4 others Thank this.

You know the crap part of all that. For the first 2.5 years or so, that was the best job I ever had....ever. even better than working for myself. I thought I would retire from that place. My actual job was chems, but I had alot of leeway. They just left me be, because I got things done. Then all the safety bs started creeping in and I don't play well with others. Then they took away bonuses and lowered pay. By the time I left, I was making $40k a year less than when I started. How messed up is that. When that happened, it changed the whole dynamic there literally overnight. It was sad to see that place fall. It was like a big family. Everyone knew everyone and you could bs and have fun. It was honestly fun to work there. We even had a dodgeball arena. Yes, an actual arena for dodgeball. A big metal cage....it was awesome. The last year I was there my team won the competition. We had a great Christmas party. It was not for the faint of heart. Guys would show up with kegs, strippers and hookers. It was something else. I got a black eye from the mechanical bull. It flung me through the air like a rag doll, then it swung around and hit me in the face in the way down. It was Hella good times. But, that all changed last year. When the merger happened, the fun and shananagins stopped. Gosh that place was fun while it lasted though.Flint1, singlescrewshaker, Gatordude and 8 others Thank this.

Oh, on a side note. I had to go back to the shop after I loaded. Which was about 70 miles in the wrong direction. I thought the wheel seal was bad......again. I added 2 jugs of oil to it in that 70miles. I thought the spindle might be bad and I was pissy about it. After all, this was my 3rs trip back for that seal. Turns out my hub cap was cracked. It wouldn't leak while sitting. It flung it out while driving from the centrifugal force. I saw oil on the bottom of my linings. Turns out he just didn't clean them of very well the second time. Anywho, I made a whopping 273 miles today. 140ish of that was going to and from the shop. Good times.

I guess that was going to be my next question, just didn’t know how to word it. I wonder if it’s because of the footprint the crawlers has to keep it stabilized. Sorry, just find that kind of stuff interesting.Flint1, singlescrewshaker, Gatordude and 7 others Thank this.

Holy crap, that is EXACTLY what he said! He left Liberty in August. He said the same thing, it has a fantastic job, learned so much about the industry and how it really works. I forgot his title when he left, but he started as a hand and worked his way up quickly. He was making a killing, plus that bonus. He doesn’t play well with others, especially people who have never been there and actually done the work (like most dispatchers). He butted heads with safety, and finally just had enough.
He told me that if you’re a hand, you created a tool in the field that worked and wasn’t in the shed, Liberty had the rights to that tool.Flint1, singlescrewshaker, Gatordude and 7 others Thank this. -
