I'm in the same boat. And like @Oscar the KW pushing that last little bit to run out the clock because it won't stop when I want it to.

You are right and what @PoleCrusher was saying about the new rules. I have used it a couple times and found that it helps but man it sure makes for a long frickin day if you do the 3 hour break. That already long 14hr day just got turned into a 17 hour day... Actually now that i think about it all the times ive used that new rule ive always had to stop ahort of the clock because im just exhausted. those days usually involve tarping or run into some bs waiting time at a shipper/recieverDeereRunner97, Brettj3876, cke and 8 others Thank this.

Sounds like a good pick.!

Mexican is always hit, plus that usually means a cold 1 or 2 to wash it down..
Patty melt was good, but sort of wish I went with breakfast now. Still in walk'n distance, maybe pop back in a few hrs..? LolDeereRunner97, Brettj3876, cke and 11 others Thank this. -
I haven't ran under the new rules. Looked into them some but since I wasn't running with them I didn't really look hard. All of what I haul is ag exempt so I get a 150 mile radius from the source for free. Typically don't run into logging issues with that.DeereRunner97, Brettj3876, cke and 8 others Thank this.

Speaking of ag. I got offered steady bee loads aswell. Hard no on that. I'm not going back to 900 mile days and 4 hour a night sleep. Good money, but it ain't worth all that.DeereRunner97, Brettj3876, cke and 7 others Thank this.

Because I switch from AG to Non Exempt. I use a simple time card for the complete month. On Duty, Off duty, Driven time, Total Time. 14 hours total on duty now allowed.
Then hit the paper book if I'll run over 150 miles.DeereRunner97, Brettj3876, Lostkeys and 12 others Thank this. -
Your both owner operators, buy exempt trucks!!! They can be cheap..
Sure, Pinky's Pink with an m11 & a 9er but for $17k in this market what do you expect. Run something slightly undesirable & cheap. My roof & glass are both flat & that's all I really care about..
Even this box stock 350hp wasn't as bad as I thought.. 75k lb gross, we came to a dead stop at the bottom of the Monteagle climb on i24 eastbound today. Still managed to get to the last under drive gear (7th for me) & topped the hill at 36mph. Could of run 41mph, but didn't want to turn 2000 rpm the whole way up.. (Double nickel limit) Had it a 13sp & been able to split up I reckon she had a bit more. Not big power by no means, but ran up hill with 90% of the other trucks..DeereRunner97, Brettj3876, cke and 16 others Thank this. -

My observation only. 99% of these modern 500 hp engines couldn't pull a fart out of my Labradors backside.
Not for bragging cause I'm on the tiny liter engine side. But I have not had my doors blown off buy a single one with a modern diesel yet.DeereRunner97, Brettj3876, cke and 12 others Thank this. -
Yeah, but you could fix that. Answer your phone every once in awhile........
Dang millenials........
