Spread 54 ton of rocks yesterday.
Put more dirt on the crossing today and moved the equipment back home.
My back is screwed up bad enough I can't run a winch bar so I'll probably just tinker around the house this week.
Where is everyone #5

I’m in Austin Texas. Currently sitting at the bar at Bartletts restaurant. It is Sunday evening and I deliver my load tomorrow at around 8:30 - 9:00 am.

Gees.....thats usually my gig....lol
Surprisingly, a very nice day. It has been in the mid 50s all day with sunshine. Actually got some Fencing done. If there ever was a good time for it.....it's now. Your not sweating your butt off and the t-post go in easy because the ground is saturated. Good times. Plus I've been playing UNO with my boys. Feels good beating a 5 year old.....better than you would think....lol.
They are playing chess now.....gonna school them there too in a bit. Although my oldest is getting considerably better.Gatordude, PoleCrusher, D.Tibbitt and 10 others Thank this. -

My wife says thanks for the thoughts and prayers. As of right now she’s just got bad cold symptoms. Hopefully doesn’t get worse. We’ve all taken the jab. We’ve all had symptoms in the past. Hopefully doesn’t get any worse.

My buddy drove for yrc out of Chicago for years. "Intentional " breakdowns were not uncommon at all in that company. He always had lots of stories to tell. The most common were when someone didn't like the run they were supposed to be on, so their pretrip always came up with a whole host of oos violations. It was bad.OLDSKOOLERnWV, Gatordude, PoleCrusher and 8 others Thank this.

I ran turnpike road service for Yellow. I know what your saying. We were even there tire bank. So if the drivers knew we were. They would drive with a flat out of are turnpike zone. Knowing Yrc might send us upto 3 hours out because we were 24/7 and tire bank. 6 hour round trip for a pre mounted tire. Seen 7ways cut, hoses stabbed. Just fix and stay quiet. Went Fremont to Youngstown for a brake chamber fitting. Tried telling the road service they might wanna call someone else. Didn't care. So I didn't. I was on time and a half. Drove speed limit, took longer to write invoice than put a repair fitting on. I had a company to manage. Not my job to manage their company.
Plus Roadway, UPS, Holland, many more.Last edited: Nov 28, 2021

Yeah, I have no idea how they stayed in business. I drove wrecker for a buddy one season. I was responsible for I70 from the tunnel to soldier canyon. Yrc wouldnt chain up. So, they would call us in advance to have us waiting to tow them up the hills. Then wait for them at the next set and tow them up there......and so on with the next guys. I personally shut down Loveland pass more than a few times because of yrc. They are a total ####.show.TripleSix, Gatordude, PoleCrusher and 9 others Thank this.
