30% is outrageous high for that deal. Mercer pays us 74%, and they pay cargo/liability insurance, IFTA, permits. Then we get a pretty good discount on plates, bobtail is $25/mo, fuel at cost + 5 cents.

Of course, the broker might have some premium freight that would make the deal worth it.

Wow…hope you have a spotter. 295 is lethal on a negative.

    Have you been unracking?
Next week, warm up good with 135, hit 185x3 and your PR. Load 355 and unrack for 10 reps. That should prepare the muscles and ligaments for 355.

Then do 3 sets of 3 with 90% of your PR. Drop to 225 and get stupid with the negatives. Finish by repping 185.

315 bench, you should feel superhumanly strong.

All depends, I was lease on with a 75%/25% split. And a 76%/24%. I made money on both. The first actually paid full coverage policy on my truck, not just liability. The percent is a numbers game. He need to know what his 70% is. 70%of 0 is still 0. 90% of 0 is till 0.

    My responsibilities were
    Turn paperwork in timely
    Tractor license plate.
    Tractor 2290
    Non trucking insurance

He needs to know what this brokers insurance covers.

He said he looked for his own insurance, Progressive wanted like $17,500 per truck annually….

That seems like an awful lot for a hotshot rig.

Yes it is. I’d say his age and experience is a big factor there. Said he was born in 1992, so he’s young…..

Not really, no CDL, 4 new pieces of equipment. Insurance costs are nuts, even for that setup. Wonder how the new year's gonna look for insurance increases? Last year mine shot up 30%, even though nothing changed.

When I ran my truck/trailer/hay loads with ag plates, insurance was $436 a year. Then I start hauling
"for hire", same truck/trailer, but with ap plates hauling someone else's hay to a customer, my insurance jumps to $3800, just like that...

I was quoted 20k or so for 2 trucks from them. Same age as he is. 1992 was nearly 30 years ago. How old are you supposed to be before age doesn't effect your trucking insurance? 50?

I'd say his age isn't the issue. No cdl, no prior truck ownership. Real high risk individual right there.
