Older I get, more I believe in this.

The Lord put it there, he will take it away.

Yeah, that was just for the 2 wheel drives though. When they converted the design to 4wd in the 80s....it was bad. The beams had to have holes cut in for the axles to pass through. They were not good and wore out very quickly. Every single one ive been in has been a sloppy #####.

Is it just a Ohio thing to go buy them and put them in a friend's yard while on vacation?

Just a heads up, since there's a lot of DIY guys in here. Make sure you inspect and check any parts manufactured during covid. I just want to get my longblock together and clean up the garage, which I should have been able to do over Christmas.

So far have had 2 damaged pistons (look like they were dropped and then packaged), 2 reman connecting rods with wrist pin bushings out of spec, 1 new crankshaft with a broken tone wheel, and now 1 bent crankshaft. These are all Cummins parts. All in all, I had to get 14 pistons and 8 rods to put a weight matched set together. I'm seriously considering taking a stab at aftermarket again.
