I have never understood why ford lovers put up with suck engineering. They literally design stuff to be different, and silly. I've spent my entire career avoiding em.
But when I have to fix em, I usually end up leaking..
And yes, the general does real dumb s$%/ too.

 

My eff one fitty has a steady bearing and a non serviceable driveshaft (super crew, 6.5' box). Steady bearing pulled out of the rubber isolator so I tried to source a new one, can't just change the steady bearing, Ferd says it's all one piece to the tune of $1500 and none to be had. If you want to repair it, find a driveline repair shop. Had to get creative, but I fixed it.

 

Sounds like Ford and Caterpillar share engineers.

 

I love how they designed a plastic funnel to catch the oil when you spin the filter off. Works so well that most of it ends up spilling out of about 3 different places in the skid plate. Need 3 drain pans to catch everything if you want to drain the oil pan at the same time as replacing the filter.

 

On mine the little plastic funnel it doesn't work if you have the front end up on ramps to change your oil.

Well, I spent 20 min this morning trying to get out of my parking spot. Since the wind warnings were up in WY, every box jockey and their mother took up every conceivable spot there was and then made some more. So I had to get creative. It was warm and slushy when I parked. So I woke up and couldn't move. My warm tires sank in the slush and then froze in the night. So I had to chip my way out and throw iron first thing this morning.....lol.

 

Well, made the mistake of going to McDonald's for lunch......and I know better too. There was a guy and 2 girls in line. They were prolly late 20s. The girls were in pajama pants and baggy sweat shirts complete with house slippers. Dude was actually dressed and decent looking. I ordered at the kiosk and sat down. After the girls ordered they went and sat down while dude paid. The girls were giggling on their phones while he waited for the food he paid for. Dude looked like a beat dog. The look on his face......just sad. He made eye contact with me and I shook my head and laughed quite loudly. He quickly looked away. Then he got the food and all three were on their way out, however one girl made him hold her food so she could go potty. I laughed hard......again. what a puss. I got my food and went to sit back down. There were 2 overweight drivers sitting in the corner. They were obviously a couple male/female. She had her headset on and a snuggy. Yes....a ####ing snuggy in a "restaurant". They had a tablet set up watching TV all snuggled up in the corner. The thing was turned up so loud I could tell you word for word what was taking place. Wtf is wrong with people! Seems nobody has any self respect anymore. What happened?
