I never lost smell or taste. But the beer flavor was tough, couple extra weeks and I fully recovered. You can do this!

I took that "####tail" and I can say it didn't make anything worse. I dont know if it helped. But I lived.
Add 300 mg of asprin, if you are worried about blood clots.DeereRunner97, cke, kwswan and 9 others Thank this. -
Yeah, Dr has me doing the asprin thing also. I'm convinced my regimen of those vitamins was one of the things that kept me from ending up in the hospital on a ventilator, along with the monochronal, sp?, treatment.
I just got over the omnicron also, not nearly as bad as the Delta but still sucked. I'm battin a thousand!Dadetrucking305, DeereRunner97, cke and 12 others Thank this. -
The rat race took forever it seemed like being sick doesn't help Lol. I put her in the hammer lane most of the way and kept up with the cars. Couldn't wait to hit the bunk.
Morning rush is a free for all, cops just wanna keep traffic moving. Coming back out is a different story, they'll light you up for speedingDeereRunner97, cke, PoleCrusher and 9 others Thank this. -
Well I guess there’s my opening. The part about driving a certain truck... I have driven hoods, car carrier, flat bed, RGN and just about anything except a tanker my whole life. Was even a mobile crane operator for 5 years. Any trucking job where you have to do work I’ve probably done it. So last year I fell off a car carrier while I was loading and caught a pretty bad injury that will probably keep me out of car haul forever. So instead of sitting around and going broke I bought a truck. And the only thing new that was available and not priced outrageous was a new Crapscadia. I cannot believe how differently I get treated driving this. I keep it clean and do what little I can to try and slightly stand out from all the other plastic junk. It just amazes me how little respect you get from others driving one of these and dragging a box. Flash someone over and nothing. Give a wave at a large car that you like and nothing. I’m amazed and feel like a second class citizen!
I’ve been behind the wheel in one form or another since 1988. I practice lane control, I don’t speed thru construction or parking lots I don’t tailgate, I don’t wear pajamas or flip flops or Jerusalem cruisers but I guess I get lumped in because of what I’m driving. So yes we all get judged in one form or another. And don’t get me wrong I’m stacking cash pretty well and not whining but the difference is certainly notable. The great thing about not giving a flying f is just that not giving a flying f what anyone one thinks besides God, family and friends. I know who I am be danged whatever I drive. Just know I won’t be the one tearing off your hood in the truck stop.

I've pulled box, and could be pulling one by end of the week. You never know. Your working and running a business, that's commendable in my book.
I guess a guy with a 13k 22 yearold freighshaker would judge a guy in a new one.
You do what you need to Bob!

Haven't seen the skyline in person since 9/11, prior to that I was up there 2 or 3 nights a week in the mid/late 90's, 2000 and 01 before the attack. I vividly remember crossing the bridge into lower Manhattan and how the Twin Towers stood out, especially at night. Don't know how I'd feel seeing it as it is now without them.singlescrewshaker, DeereRunner97, Gatordude and 7 others Thank this. -
My dad was down there everyday for about 10 years hauling steel in the teamsters union.
He was down there on 9/11 doing Cornell hospital on the upper east side....I think I'll have to ask him, or some high rise in midtown. He got stuck on the GW all day trying to get out of the city. Canron was one of the biggest Erectors in the city and that's who they hauled steel for.
I guess they wanted to have some steel brought down to maybe help brace stuff up (never did use it) they asked my dad and he said no he didn't want to see all the carnage. Another driver did it. Police escort and the red carpet laid out. As fast as you could go with a police escort. I know it sounds like one of X1 tall tales Lol
Few months later the steel petered out and my dad got out of it and got into stone quarry full timeDadetrucking305, singlescrewshaker, DeereRunner97 and 8 others Thank this. -
I'm not gonna lie, I'm not a fan of plastic trucks at all. However, I think it all depends on your situation. Right now I think the best buy in the industry is an international. You can pick up a decent 9200 with an m11 for around $15k...ish. what's not to like about that? I view plastic trucks as throw away trucks, because that is what they are. If I had no intentions of keeping a truck long term, that is what I would be driving. If I was a guy that recycles his trucks every 4 years or less, having a plastic truck makes sense. However, I tend to keep them. So I want something that is going to last. I'm not gonna sit here and lie though, I'm guilty of being judgmental about guys in plastic trucks and box jockeys. Stereotypes are there for a reason, because they are mostly true. Of course there are guys that don't fall into that. However, I'm gonna guess that everybody on here is guilty of making fun of the white Volvo Stereotype. I would bet money on it.singlescrewshaker, cke, DeereRunner97 and 9 others Thank this.
