We very well may see the current trend continue and even become exacerbated this year. I can see the Fed hiking rates 4 maybe 6 times to try to counter inflation. That will lead to a big slowing of construction, less equipment and vehicle purchasing, and money moving out of growth investments for safer haven. Demand for steel, wire, lumber and other building materials will decline.

Next will be massive unemployment in those industries. Normally that would lead to an economic correction, as people would have to tighten their spending to get by. Unfortunately though, congress will probably pass another huge spending bill, cause you just can't have people learning to live within their means, that would be cruel.

So all these newly unemployed will be getting their check, plus a supplemental check, and then probably some bailout checks thrown in cause, well... grandma and the children, or some other such nonsense. That means the demand for food and other commodities will increase, causing even higher inflation at the grocer. Then, after stuffing their faces with taxpayer bought steaks and doritos, they'll get on their brand new phone and spend some more of the taxpayers' money on a bunch of cheap Chinese crap from Amazon.

Which means van rates will continue to climb, while open deck rates will probably drop.

The fed already said expect 4 rate hikes this year. I'm with you on this one.....not gonna end well for us.

Edit: the near 0% lending can't last forever.

Yes, still coughing stuff up, not as bad as it was but still yucky. The cough has taken forever to get rid of but I just finished with Prednisone and my first inhaler of Albuterol so it has diminished quite a bit. I do quite a bit of not coughing but that "ahem" kinda thing to clear my throat to get the mucus out.

Also dealt with pretty significant heart palpitations and shortness of breath for a couple of months also but getting better. Lost my taste and smell with Delta but since I've had the Omnicron it's come back.

I'm 59 and never really been sick until now. Caught Delta in September and haven't been back to normal since but I'm getting close, and FYI, never got the shot.

Hope this gives you some insight, anymore questions just ask away.

Only a crystal ball can predict that. Mines clearly broken.
