Speaking of hitting underground utilities. I was digging a hole to put up a sign on my property using a 2 ft diameter auger on a skid steer. Everything was going just fine till I was about 5 ft down and the auger just sank and water was flying everywhere. Ended up I hit a 12 inch main line 10 ft inside my fence! I had called the people to mark all the utilities and everything was marked between the fence and the road. Ended up the water people came out and fixed the pipe and I never got a bill. I was worried for awhile.

Oregon is too dry in the north and east, the swamp donkeys don't travel where the food is scarce. The same with most of occupied ID. You only find the odd one near the MT border or up near Yellowstone areasinglescrewshaker, PoleCrusher, shooter19802003 and 7 others Thank this.

I never kept count of small birds or rodents.
I did get sideswiped by a wolf that took out the passenger step on my 89 FLC, had to replace both twisted tank straps too.singlescrewshaker, PoleCrusher, shooter19802003 and 6 others Thank this. -
Consider burning it out.
Cut the top and bottom from a junk barrel and add 6 2 inch air holes on the bottom. Drop it over the stump and add kindling on top. Figure about 2 days per cubic foot of stump above ground.singlescrewshaker, PoleCrusher, Czar_Zero and 8 others Thank this. -

In Arizona there was a feral hog that ran across the road with plenty of time to get to the other side, but for some reason that will forever remain a mystery turned and came charging up the middle of the lane.

I've dug many out with the hoe, but with the real big ones, I just dig out all around it, then take the chainsaw and cut the stump to well below ground level. Then fill it back in with good soil, done.
Swamp donkeys on the NY/PQ border too, and well south into the Adirondacks. No hunting season yet, libtards from NYC wouldn't stand for it. Yeah, they cause fatalities when hit. State started putting up warning signs, does it make a difference, nope.
When digging trenches for electric, water, gas, sewer. etc lines, I'd recommend putting the red warning tape down in the trench (ie: 4-5' deep trench, pipe in, fill in, red tape 2' deep, finish filling trench), might just save the next fellow from a big headache...Troy_, singlescrewshaker, DeereRunner97 and 8 others Thank this. -
Got what I think is a negative test finally today.
