I would love one day to build a cabin and have one of those for permit living.

The number has to be like 99%. Just because you can, doesn't mean you would. I've driven trucks of that vintage and I'm willing to put up with alot. However, going back to a truck with no air ride, no a/c and no power steering.......nah.....hard pass. Around town to the grain bins and such.....whatever. otr?....nope. I could prolly pit up with all of it except the no a/c. Being a constant ball of sweat 24/7.....not for me.

Roger that, I'd like to have one in a remote cabin way back in the Maine woods for hermit living, LOL...

Not the age (I tell myself), "non-commercial use" registered = $457/yr. Worth every penny to not be Joe Homeowner pulling a dump trailer behind the pickup.
    And it's cool.
You guys would laugh your azzes off when I pull out after not driving all winter and head down the hill and forget to flip the rears in high and trying to keep up with the gears- "Wow, darn near did a wheelie there. I'm out of practice. WTF is going on here? There's gotta be a gear here somewhere. Flip the rears! (on the dash).....DITCH!!!!......I hope nobody is watching...."

Funny you say that. I'm actually looking at buying another dump trailer. Priced them out the other week and have to make some calls on Monday. Holy cow have they gotten expensive! Guy was wanting $34k for a new GN, 24k, 3 way gate with grain chute, deck over the GN, 7 ft ramps and 8x20. I about shat!

Yup, I've got Ag plates on my IH 7100 right now, insurance is $488 a year. When I switch the Apportioned plate over from the C70, it's gonna jump to $5,786 a year, just like that..

Thanks for sharing that. Since IRP & IFTA weren't thought of yet back then, I'd be curious to what the writing says next to each on the side of the cab?

Same here, no way they'd follow though, at least not at first anyway, but give it time, give it time...
