Setting both trucks up with printer/scanner. You have any recommendations for a compact one?

Brother, has always been a good fit for me. MFC, is best for you. You don't want a Laser in the cab, you don't want to breath that stuff. You can get some that do Duplex printing (both sides) automatically to duplicate pages, forms etc. They're cheap and much more reliable than HP as far as I'm concerned. HP always gave me problems when I needed them the most. Murphy's Law or whatever, but the last HP I had that gave me trouble...wound up against the wall in pieces. :)

PS. Here's one of their latest, in about the same size and format as the one I used. It's an inkjet, Duplex, Wireless. You will need to figure out how to set it up, but most of their stuff comes with pretty clear and easy to connect to apps. MFC-J1170DW:

It will do everything you'll need it to do. This one is listed on the Brother site for $139.99 but if you shop, you should be able to get it or one like it for about $100.00 especially on end of life products.

I use an app called simple scanner. Take a picture of the paperwork . turns it into a black and white scan. Then can email it off as a PDF file.free app. Accomplishes the same job as a scanner.. But i also want to get a printer for the truck . so anybody has recommendations im all ears

Same recommendation for you, too. This fits nicely in a compartment or behind a swing-out TV mounting bracket. They have smaller more compact models, but honestly, the scanner is worth the extra size for any size pages you need to copy, even Legal size or those long BOL's. If you want to use legal size paper, the Brother's paper tray is usually an expanding paper tray, to hold it.

Adobe has a free scanner app for your phone. It's all I use now. Works great.

Edit: you can edit and crop, and email from the app. Top notch.

The adobe app is way better and still free. Then get a compact printer like this and print wireless from the phone:
