Mind you I’m a half retarded truck driver, but from what I gather it meant you basically had another split to go up? So 1st now days was another level of low?
Where is everyone #5

If he had a hot 318 Detroit I could have run those numbers with an engine rpm of 2600.
I have seen them live at 2750 for 12 to 13 hours straight.Crusader66, CAXPT, dwells40 and 3 others Thank this. -
@beastr123 join in.
No more split to go up just where the mathematical ratios had been set for a smooth shifting transmission. I can give you the math, but that is probably not going to tell you what you want to know.Crusader66, cke, BigBob410 and 2 others Thank this. -
Yes like the new style 13 and 18 11th was direct and the ratios were a bit wider in those older transmissions.yes 1st was low.Crusader66, cke, CAXPT and 4 others Thank this.

The photo sort of reminded me of an incident from a time in history. Tech school, had a few beverage vending machines that had malted drinks. One seemed to never deliver on the requested beverage. This particular machine was known to be problematic. One evening, it had failed to deliver for its last time. Up 4 flights of stairs, out the door it went. You would be surprised at what a fall of about 65 feet can do to a vending machine. All the machines were removed a few days later. Sometimes you just gotta do what needs to be done.D.Tibbitt, Isafarmboy, Crusader66 and 8 others Thank this.

A double over is supposed to be a double overdrive. At least the way I understand it.Crusader66, cke, CAXPT and 4 others Thank this.

One of the first guys I worked for had 36" sleepers on Petes. He put the thinnest, hardest mattress he could find in them. Might as well have been sleeping on a board. On the other hand he'd put in the most expensive, comfortable, and plush driver's seat he could find.
The message was very clear.Feedman, Crusader66, Wasted Thyme and 10 others Thank this. -
I will print up the math, gotta do the geek thing. And swing by with a 13 speed and show you. Easy peasy.Crusader66, cke, CAXPT and 2 others Thank this.
