Looks like the storm is going to stay to the East of 97 — I84 EB is shut down around Mecham right now

 

Wave when you hit Redding. If the Loves just west of Boardman is full, there’s lots of parking around the Oregon Potato, Pac Ethanol area. There’s a Pac Pride that you can park at and a few places around there that no one should bother you at.

 

The place I usually stop when in that area is Space Age or the one on the other side of the split. Both are somewhat a pit, but I just need a place to park.

On a side note. They opened a T/A across from the Huntington scale. Can’t remember how long ago, been a while. Seems to be getting business.

 

highway 12 is my go when coming from montana to portland/vancouver. that is one beautiful drive! except during winter. most times i see it closed down

 

Westland is the one by the split and pit is very generous— a man could loose his truck in some of the potholes, but it is a place to park

 

True, seen cars go out in that lot and never come back. The only thing good about it is available parking.

A lot of 97 between Madras and the Columbia is open range. It's supposed to be posted but most of it isn't.
Be especially careful from Shaniko to Grass Valley.
If you hit one of those old skells that's nothing but hide, hooves, and attitude you automatically turn her into the finest brood cow that rancher ever had and he'll charge you accordingly.
