Doesn’t look like it’s even started to melt there yet.

That's what I thought too. You get bored, start back part time, and if you're not careful before long you're right back to the same old deal.

Get bored? I'll lend you a fishing rod. Just tell me where to send it.

My friend is "retired" but taking on some side jobs as he had a good rep in his field and he gets calls "can you help me out for a bit...". Talked to him last month he said he's full time now and making more money than he ever has in his life. "I don't know why I'm doing it, I have nothing to spend the money on- I needed it when I was 21 not 71!"
[edit: I told him he's clearly retarded not retired]

I think you are absolutely right. It’s always been that way to an extent, but for the last 15 years or so it seems to have gotten worse. It blows my mind to see someone get their cdl one day and authority the next, and I really don’t care except for the fact they drive rates down by not knowing anything. Then I have to listen to brokers telling me they get it moved for that rate all day long.

It amazes me how clueless some brokers are. You wanna pay less now that fuels gone up. Not owning a single truck of course they'll somewhat clueless but they should know fuel is the biggest expense. I had to spell it out for him why you can't pull it for less right now. Will sit home before losing money. His answer was really? Sorry I can't do it for that. 5 min later get a call back, ok we can do it for that rate. Was only asking an extra 150

Fuel went up .10¢ last night. I topped off the service truck's little 50gal tank on my way back here, log truck driver on the other side of me "wanna trade?"
    No. No I don't.
