    Question for the group...

I'm parked bobtail behind a couple trees. MVT backs in on the other side of the trees at a 90⁰ angle to me. He proceeded to back into my left rear tire and mudflap hanger. It leaves a small nick in the aluminum rim, no other damage.

He's apologetic and immediately ready to call his company and report it.

I see two options... either follow through with reporting it and maybe get a new wheel and an alignment out of them, or let it go.

Chime in and tell me what you would do. Then I'll tell you what I did.

I'm parked where the red line is. He is the blue line

He apologized. Minute damage that doesn’t affect my operation. I’d let it go.

If he were any sort of an arse, I would be merciless.

The fact he owned his mistake and was ready to accept the consequences speaks volumes.

    #### happens. We all deserve a pardon once in a while for a screwup.

    Lol.
Actually quite the opposite. With the two cars, the smart car doesn't have enough weight. The other car was a full size Mercedes i believe. Therefore it doesn't have the momentum to carry it forward through the crash. So it just bounced back off the front of the oncoming car and tumbled around. The shear amount of Gs from that force instantly killed and actually damaged the dummies inside. It was nuts.

I told him not to worry about it. He wants me to look at it again in the daylight and make sure I don't want him to call it in.

He's pretty green from what I can tell. Hopefully he learns from it.

Something similar happened a few years ago in Effingham. Guy was backing in and scraped his trailer on the corner of the herd bumper. It was his final week of working before retirement after 27 accident free years. Another case of his demeanor setting the tone for how it gets handled.

Oddly enough there's a Love's just north of here. I told my wife earlier I wasn't sure about parking there because I didn't want to get backed into.

    Well…

Was listening to the FM, heard “Steve Gorman Rocks” (entertaining BTW), heard this lady April Rose speak. She was a Maxim model. I don’t Maxim so, that really doesn’t mean much. So, I look her up on YouTube to see her in action and….

    “Which one is she, Six?”

    Huh?

I’d probably just let it go.
