We, that’s me and wife, tend to stay away from the chains, go more for the better quality independent. Yes, the prices will mostly be above the chains, the quality of food and service should also be above the chains. If expectations are not met, then they get the one time, maybe a second. Could have been an off time, fail again, it’s done.
Do I tip, yes, even when the service is poor, may not be much, a little something. We tend to not eat at restaurants very often, not that we don’t want to, just the selection of quality is extremely lacking. The mentality in this state is franchise is king, when it comes to food, the cheaper and lots of it wins. Independents and high quality places usually don’t last long. I can cook much better quality food at home.

Yep just hand lapped it. Where's the new place at? You can pm me if you want to keep it private.

I've got it stripped to the block and rotating assembly. Going to haul it off tomorrow to the scrap yard. Got a few odd and end parts to still sell off it but getting rid of the big stuff to get my trailer cleaned off.

    Some updates from today.

Got to put charge pipes on tomorrow and it'll be done and ready for a test run.

Going on the last statement about price of food. Why is it that everybody else at that restaurant is paid an hourly wage of atlest minimum wage, but the waitstaff? So when you pay everyone but the handful of waitstaff atleast minimum wage.....the price of food goes extreme if you also pay the handful of folks upfront the same wage? I call bs on that. So, the cooks, bus boys, dishwashers, etc are all paid paid atleast minimum wage, but it's going to break the bank to pay the waitstaff the same? I think not. It doesn't matter anyways. Because as long as folks agree to work for substandard wages, nothing will change.

i do agree with that 100% . i dont know the logistics of resturant business, never ran one before. i just know that servers are paid on tips... and some places those waitresses have to pool those tips together and split it among the other servers/cooks/buss boys. although i think that is unfair to the waiter that busted their ### all night making that money on their own.. but i digress. im glad i dont work for tips anymore. trucking pays much better and i enjoy life much more

I've never been a waiter. I've been a bus boy, dishwasher and a cook at the same place. Also worked at taco bell. Actually had alot of fun working at both. Gave me gas money and alot of food to take home.

Edit: gonna take a pic for you in the morning. Your gonna laugh.....promise. :D

Law says the restaurant has to pay the person a wage that equals the minimum for their hours worked. That's why these peoples checks may be a few dollars after taxes and whatnot because they claimed enough tips to cover their hourly wages. If a server is stupid enough to claim their cash tips at the end of the night that's their fault.

These people that ##### and moan about they don't make much on their jobs have never put pen to paper to see they make at minimum the minimum wage and usually more. They don't keep up with the cash tips they bring in and say we'll my check was nothing this week for all these hours when in reality they made more than minimum when you count the cash as well.

My opinion is get over it and deal with tips or get paid minimum wage and no tips.
