They should have gotten their food to go OR announce as soon as they walk in that they do not tip servers.

I had a mountain lion in heat in the woods behind my old house sometime in the late 90's. Thought it was a woman hoarse from screaming for help. The neighbor that I never actually met in person called to see if we were ok, or if I wasn't killing my wife, knew what was going on lol. I set out into the woods looking for a hurt woman in distress, only to see a lion going up the ridge. There's no mistaking that long tail for anything else really.
Thinking back, I kinda wish I was just killing my ex. I'd probably be out by now, and it could have made a better story. Pre-internet, so I didn't even know they were supposedly extinct and just chocked it up to another country thing that happens lol.cke, Brettj3876, Gatordude and 10 others Thank this. -
In Europe the tip is included.krupa530, cke, PoleCrusher and 5 others Thank this.

You're paid differently. Restaurant workers depend on those tips to supplement the pitiful wages they get in those jobs. Like truck drivers can't get OT pay, they don't get but minimum wage as the quality of service from the wait staff improves with the tip they get from a customer. As a youngin', who was supposed to get a split of the tips from the waitress when I was the busboy, I told them to keep it, they needed it more than I did, living at home at the time and going to school. So unless you've worked those jobs, you have no idea what they have to put up with to do their jobs. You get bad service, you tip accordingly, and those are the ones that don't show back up. You get good service, you tip accordingly, and they stay and service you with a smile rather than a scowl.Last edited: Apr 20, 2022

Okay, next time you get stuck at the jobsite more than 2 hours to load or unload, don't ask for detention, since you're lucky you're getting loaded and paid to haul it. Does that make it a better analogy for you?IH9300SBA, cke, PoleCrusher and 4 others Thank this.

Agreed. As of the recent boost in pay to people that reheat burgers in the fast food industry, I don't eat there anymore. I'm not paying more for what I know is going to be bad service, because they don't even have to look me in the eye doing it. That's the difference between and why you're seeing a dearth of workers in the sit down restaurant business. Not to mention, the phone swiping entitled staff that does show up. We have some agreement on this issue, but if you sit down, please, tip your server at least to the degree they deserve, as you would like to be tipped if they aren't being total entitled phone swiping morons.
