Paragon in Muskogee uses em.
Well I tried getting a video of it today with no luck. It feels like my dash is going to be shaken off the firewall it gets so bad. I don't feel it physically in the wheel so I believe it to be in the drives and or the driveline and not the steer axle. -
Once they’re built out they can jack and raise themselves. But initial build is done, usually, by a Mobil crane.
it will jack up and slide the next piece in. It’s a cool process to watch….from the ground!!

@bumper Jack
It was not my intention to come across as a prick, but since she has never hauled a coil and probably never will I didn’t deem it necessary to go down the big coil rabbit hole. Big coil, eye to the sky? Never hauled one and glad I’ve never seen one. Every BigRed that’s ever loaded me loaded the coil suicide. -
You kinda did, but that’s all right I’m a big boy.

That’s something I would love to see done. What I can’t figure out is how the crane holds itself up while the new section goes in.

That’s the bad thing about not hearing one’s voice and only seeing words in my opinion. I’ve been mistaken on here as a total ass I’m sure over the years. I’m not very good with words anyway, unless I’m mad…. according to my wife.
-
Sometimes yes. This case not so much. It was dismissive and rude. That’s the way it was meant. I only commented because he said they load all big coils by crane. Maybe I should have just kept my comment to myself. I wasn’t trying to start a pissing contest. Maybe he took it that way. Idk… but in any case it hasn’t ruined my day. I’m not mad and I don’t hold a grudge. It’s all good.
