I've never had an issue falling asleep in a moving truck until now even being newer. Not to mention we don't see eye to eye on much. He doesn't think you should ever use your horn because it could piss someone off and they could brake check you and now you hit them and you're out of a job. Okay...I get that BUT if you cut me off my natural reaction is to prevent an accident as well as let it be know that my big 80K lb truck is behind or wherever around your dumb butt be it a four Wheeler or another trucker. Doesn't believe in having a CB which I do.....mainly for updates on traffic/weather and accidents related to them, but even conversation. I've been around a few old school guys so I've learned more from them and obviously a lot of them still do the old way of things. Like some say flashing your brights is the same as dimming them....umm no it isn't especially at night!

I've tried a few nights to get video of him doing these things but it is too dark in the truck, unfortunately. And our company doesn't have cameras at all (which I like, but now I know why he said he wouldn't ever work for a company that does). It wasn't that I had something to hide....the other two companies I worked at before both had cameras facing both ways. I had nothing to hide. Only thing that truly bothers me about it is I don't honestly know if they aren't looking when I'm changing and there isn't much room in these trucks to close that middle curtain, but all well I guess. We just switched again. Drove 595 miles today (I did). From Iowa 80 to Ogallala :)

Was the lines on the trailer neck. Detached the neck and forgot to pull the lines. Just like Ron said I would do atleast once. Well I think I set a new record. Only took me 2 loads to do it. :biggrin_25523:

you can still #### up with quick connects

I got into the habit early on — yank my neck lines and safety pin the moment I drop the trailer.

Not to mention some of these parking areas! That one there at the Pilot in Big Springs, NE. Them things look like sinkholes.....or better yet black holes. Toward the end once you get off the pavement and into the dirt especially. I seen two drivers the other day that there rear tandem axles had sunk into the ground.

quick connects don't leak like glad hands do. That's why I was gonna replace them. No different than what I had on my flatbed.

Whole heartedly agree! Talked with a driver who was flirting for a good 4 hours the other night because who needs sleep? Nah, just kidding. I did get plenty of sleep anyway. But we eventually exchanged numbers only for us to keep talking the next several days while we were both out on the road and he then proceeded to ask for nude pictures and said that if I was back up that way I should spend the night in his truck....that ended that. Nothing is that let's get to actually know each other and if we agree get married one day and that be our beginning and ending together, but nope. Not anymore. And I really wouldn't mind being with another trucker too because they understand this lifestyle. It is so hard when the OP doesn't understand it.....I had an ex who said he would break up with me if I joined the Marines which is what I wanted to do, so I turned it down after going in doing all the tests and was ready to go to MEPS. Instead we later broke up because I became a what?? TRUCK DRIVER lol :D:cool::)

Whew! What a day! Fishing the morning, a little skeet shooting in the afternoon and then crabs, shrimp, oysters, cold beer and a few rum punches! And I guess being good guests and good tippers pays dividends! Scored this and another in blue and a different style and white! 8A7A3ECD-F819-4DDA-83C9-84ACDCED5979.jpeg I’ve had better times but recently I can’t remember when! Now we’re about to settle in and watch a movie! Hope y’all are having as good a weekend as me.

Well at sounds like you are well off without either of them. A relationship is a partnership, not a dictatorship.

As I tell my granddaughters, respect yourself and insist any man you are seeing respect you as well. If they don't, stop seeing them immediately.

I definitely am! And that is the best advice you could give them :) I'm not perfect by any means whatsoever and don't expect anybody else to be either including a partner BUT respect....common courtesy?? Not asking for stuff like that especially after only being a few days into meeting. Umm....I am a professional truck driver too. I work an actual job like you. I'm usually pretty open to giving most people a chance regardless of age or looks (mostly), but respect has to be there. I was told once though and actually not long ago that a man would find my independent spirit offensive. I don't understand that. Just because I'm independent doesn't mean I want to be all macho or be the "man" in a relationship as you would call it. I don't understand the whole men intimidated by women who work their jobs or make more money. I would think that would make him proud of her as his wife or girlfriend?? Not to say that he wouldn't be proud if she didn't either though. Confuses me what anyone wants now besides just sex....unless there is nothing other than that I suppose.
