you aren’t giving anything away - you either haul it for a rate that works or don’t haul it. you agreed to do the load and that load required tracking and then tried to
Up charge the broker for “tracking”
you are doing value added service in this case - this value included service.
there are many things that justify a rate increase that is disclosed after the fact - change in weight, size, schedule, etc
As I said, you. An do what you want but my guess is that you have picked a losing battle.

yes you give your time away by sitting around waiting for the crane when hes late. Like always. yet if you are late, they charge you an arm and a leg. is that not giving away your time? you are also giving away a service for free when you provide a tracking service for someone to check where ur at and dont charge them. the same thing a check call can accomplish... if more guys stood up and quit doing #### for free . then it wouldnt be expected to do that for free... but i guess because I look after myself and business and decide to charge for a service I provide, that makes me the ### hole in the room.. thats fine with me I will continue to be the ### hole.TooTiredToTalk, Gatordude, dwells40 and 5 others Thank this.

you have never met me so what can bring you to the conclusion that im arrogant? all i've done is defend my business and refuse to work for free by any means, regardless if anyone tells me i should bend over because its the normal way to go about things in the specialized market. that makes me arrogant? try again.

In this particular case I'd listen to @Rontonio . Granted, the way System does things could be improved and it sounds like your dispatcher doesn't handle stress well but things are changing in this business. You know that.
Tracking is a pain but it's here.TooTiredToTalk, CAXPT, Tug Toy and 2 others Thank this. -
I understand you have a big ego to defend @bumper Jack .. Egos seems to run rampant in the "specialized" market.. its where all the big ego flattbedders run off to. and by golly if theres ever a new guy. you're not allowed ! nor are you allowed to think for yourself or defend yourself, or think differently than the rest of us ! thats wrong. very wrong.. we can all agree to disagree. i dont give my time or services away for free and never will. you guys can do what you like.

i am all for pricing your service as you see fit.
it just that the tracking issue has pretty much already been digested by the industry and is really part of the expected service level. It is the same battle that was fought before me on All-in versus Plus Plus Plus loads. I would like all my loads to be Plus Plus Plus but that isn’t reality. Can it be negotiated- on certain loads and for certain reasons but 80% of all the loads I do are All-in pricing- even Wind loads.
The thing about spot bid freight is you have to agree to do it - but then you have to do it. I really dislike Combined Transport for what they do to drive down pricing - but forcing electronic tracking is not one for those things.TooTiredToTalk, SL3406, Gatordude and 10 others Thank this. -
It's your business and you can run it any way you want. A lot of people here consider you a friend. But, if we saw you making a big mistake and just stood there with our hands in our pockets and our mouths shut and let you screw up something what kind of friends would we be.
I don't care what kind of trucking you'll be doing, something somewhere is gonna piss you off. By now that dispatcher has forgotten all about you and moved on to other problems.
Grow some hide.
That's my last word on this,TooTiredToTalk, dwells40, CAXPT and 11 others Thank this.
