I understand and not in disagreement with you. Thats just my perspective for my market and business.

I've ate plenty of sheet sandwiches with a smile. Part of business. I just try and limit them. I pursue compensation for anything over and above quoted job. I'd rather have 3 great days of work over 5 poor days.

With that said, if I agreed to it and I miss estimated or calculated. Its my fault and will never hear me complain to customer.

If its a good shipper who normally don't screw you around and is just having a bad day, you won't hear me complain or up charge. Happens to everyone.

has the mindset of "thats how it is and how its gonna be" ever moved something forward? change is a good thing....although some will argue against change even when it helps them.... you know some of us young guys are going to have to work in this industry a long time after all you guys retire.. so why would we continue to do things the same way? has that ever helped or benefitted any business? that is my approach to business.. "thats the way it is and how its gonna be"... it wont be that way with my business especially with things that i dont agree with... you guys can laugh all you want until your blue in the face and call it dying on a mole hill or a cross or whatever you guys want.. but to me there is a bigger picture to all of it... you know if you really want to go down the rabbit hole. that "its how it is and how its gonna be" mindset can be applied to lots of areas of this industry and if companies were to stand up for themselves.. it may not be that way.. but instead of doing something, most guys will just complain about it. and then they will laugh in the face of the guy that tries to do something and tell him hes wrong for even thinking like that...i am not saying you personally. just my observations of the people i have ran into in my short time out here.

i don’t care to change it because it isn’t worth it. Go ahead and do what you want - I truly don’t care.

I was only telling what the expectations are. And a single truck operator is not going to change it.

I am done with this subject.

If it was me nowadays I would dig out an old phone and put a resellers sim card in it and load the tracking software on it. Then turn the ring volume down to near zero and toss it onto the dash on the passenger side. Then tell the robber-drone that you will not break the law by answering the phone while driving.
