It's all in preference I guess, and the technique of the guy holding the buffer. I'm sure there's a lot of guys out there that could do better than me with just a yellow wheel and green bar from the truckstop, but I could never get the results I wanted. I actually prefer Zeypher's buffs and found that just sticking to one brand made it easier to dial it in. I have boxes of buffs that I tried and didn't like from when I was electroplating small parts and doing my buffing on a stand. Either way, airway buffs are a lot more forgiving.
Usually I don't need a heavy cut unless it's spring, or I did something stupid and burnt the finish. I have 3 buffers I just leave the wheels on for doing 3 stage.
(2) DeWalt D28499X 6k rpm with some torque.
One with a yellow treated buff with Menzerna Green 439T for heavy cutting. It's fairly greasy and pretty aggressive and will take out small imperfections without sanding.
One with Zephyr White/Blue Super Shine wheel for Menzerna White P14F
For quick cleanups, just hitting it with the White P14F with either the Super Shine wheel, or an untreated white wheel gives an easy shine, but since I still end up with some tiger stripes and hash marks, I usually finish with:
A variable speed 0-3k rpm (I ordered a DeWalt DWP849X to replace my dead Milwaukee)
With a White Domet Flannel with Menzerna Blue 480BLF
I've been using Zypher Pro 40 liquid polish in between. I'm sure there's something better out there, but I haven't found it yet. Magic Mix is the easiest on/off, but it doesn't do much polishing at all, and washes out on the first rain.Brettj3876, jamespmack, MOBee and 7 others Thank this. -
I snorted when I lol'd. Still not exactly sure I got the meaning correct, but still funny.Brettj3876, Feedman, jamespmack and 4 others Thank this.

I worry more about what the roads do to my truck than I do the people. I assume Dearborn is the reason you're having your last rights read?Feedman, jamespmack, MOBee and 3 others Thank this.

Green for cutting huh? I’ll have to order a bar and try it out. I’ve been using renegade wheels and a Milwaukee grinder when I stoped polishing a couple years ago. I’m getting the itch to start polishing again. I’ve just been so wrapped up with other projects and running my but off with loads before the bottom drops out, first year of my own authority. Ugh it’s been a long year.
I got water at the shop now (wink!!! Thanks to you) so any day now I’ll get back to cleaning her up pretty.IH9300SBA, Feedman, jamespmack and 8 others Thank this. -
I get where your coming from, in my case I was out of the way at the TA. Got this guy's # saved I'd use him again. His words were, I could #### you and you probably wouldn't use me again or be fair about it and hopefully pass the word alongIH9300SBA, Feedman, jamespmack and 7 others Thank this.
